Today, I am thrilled to share that Action Button (Speakable) is becoming a part of NationBuilder.
When Jordan Hewson founded Speakable, it was to make taking action easier by meeting people at their moment of inspiration. Their most well-known product, “Action Button,” can be embedded into news articles and publications, allowing people to instantly take action on the issues that matter to them. In just the past few years, action buttons have been seen nearly 400 million times and powered 12 million actions—half of which were taken in 2020 alone.
Back in 2018 when Jordan and I met, I remember thinking how incredible it would be if we could combine the brilliance of Action Button’s ability to meet people where they are with the power of NationBuilder’s infrastructure—giving people the chance to take not just one action, but to do so continually, becoming part of the communities and causes they care about.
So that’s exactly what we’re doing. We’ll have much more to share in the coming weeks but today, in addition to announcing that we’re joining forces, I’m also thrilled to announce that Action Button is now available to everyone.
While some organizations have had the opportunity to interact with Action Button through their premium product (which places custom action buttons on targeted, purpose-driven content in leading publications), today, anyone can visit actionbutton.org and try it out for free.
From quizzes to sentiment polls, voter registration to contacting legislators, action buttons are a simple yet powerful way to find and engage supporters. And together with NationBuilder, those initial actions can become pathways of engagement that help leaders everywhere build flourishing communities. We can’t wait to share more in the days ahead!
